Lodge Scotia Glasgow No.178

Sponsored cycle from Lairg to John O'Groats

May, 2010.

Bro. Grant Morrison, PM & Bro. Stuart Hay, PM

will be cycling from Lairg to John O'Groats in the

days following our tenth annual visit to Lodge

Loch Shin, in May.

The sponsorship will be raised for two worthy

causes, the first being the Dystonia Society, which

is a charity which Lodge Scotia have donated to on

previous occasions.

The Dystonia Society is a UK-wide charity

providing support, advice and information for

anyone affected by the neurological movement

disorder known as Dystonia.

Their aim is to ensure that everyone affected has

access to the most appropriate treatment, support

and information they need to achieve the best

possible quality of life.

The other charity to benifit will be Rosehall

First Responders, which is a charity organisation

local to our friends at Lodge Loch Shin No.1352

in Lairg, Sutherland.

Rosehall First Responders provide emergency

medical care and assistance in this very remote

area, as it can take some time to get an ambulance

to attend due to the size of the area covered

and Rosehall First Responders can make a real

difference in cases of emergency.

Anyone wishing to sponsor these very worthy

causes, please contact Bro. Grant Morrison, Bro.

Stuart Hay or ask bar staff.

A big thank you to everyone from near & far, who

attended our lodge on Tuesday, February 9th to witness

an exemplification of masonic work by a deputation of

our Canadian brothers.

Below is a letter, addressed to our Secretary, Bro. Jim

Paterson, from Bro. Roy Cummings, one of our Canadian

visitors:-

Dear Bro. Jim:

On behalf of the group of Canadians who visited Lodge Scotia in February, I would like to extend to the RWM, all officers and Brethren of the Lodge a very hearty and warm thank you.

It would be fair to say that we were overwhelmed by the warmth and welcome of all who attended that evening.

We hope you enjoyed the Work we exemplified. We certainly enjoyed doing it for you.

Those in the group who had never been to Scotland before were particularly struck by the friendship extended to them
by everyone they met.

They certainly hope to "haste ye back".

Fraternally,

Roy Cummings
